Bayern Munich: Former coaches accuse her of infringing on labor rights

by

In serious complaints against her Bayern Munich coaches who worked in the infrastructure departments of the club and who, as revealed by the magazine “WDR”, accuse the Bavarians of violation of their labor rights in terms of salaries and hours, as well as for statement of false information but also for tax evasion .

In particular, as the lawyer of some of these coaches told the German “Sky”, Andreas Waldsmith, the Bavarians gave the young technicians a monthly salary 450 euros. Remuneration which – according to the minimum wage legislation in Germany – corresponds to 47 hours of work per month. However, the aforementioned were forced to work 100 until 120 hours. At the same time in the away games, Bayern allegedly gave wrong information to the workers, in order to avoid contributions and overtime.

«The basis of the complaints concerns the small appreciation of their work, both financially and intangible. The demands from the coaches were always high, as were the expectations, but on the other hand there was little consideration.

It is scandalous in my opinion. And this is because it was happening all the time. The problem was not only with one coach, but with many who protested. They more or less answered that if you do not accept, we have ten others who will accept. Of course, this led to further frustration and anger of the coaches. “Perhaps this is the main reason why this avalanche started,” Waldsmith said.

For his part, the CEO and former legend of Bayern, Oliver Kahn, noted that “the association will cooperate fully with the authorities on the issue». In fact, both he and the club’s athletic director, Hassan Salihamidzic, the former CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, as well as the other members of the board, will be invited to testify in January.
