The way is open for the renaming of Olimpico to “Paolo Rossi” – Roma and Lazio fans react!

by

A historic decision, which may bring an even more historic move, received the House of Representatives of Italy!

The lower house – as it is said – of the Italian Parliament (the other is the Senate of the Republic), approved on Thursday (30/12) a proposal to rename the Olympic Stadium in Rome to “Paolo Rossi”, in honor, of course, of of a huge Italian striker and hero of the 1982 World Cup, who died of old age 64 years old a year ago.

The sentence he passed me 387 votes in favor, commits the government to weigh the possibility of naming the former star of Vicenza, Juventus and Milan at the national stadium of the country!

The move, it should be noted, was supported by the center-right MP of Forza Italia, Pierantonio Zanettin.

At the same time, however, the fact that Rossi on the one hand was not born in Rome and on the other hand he has not worn the jersey of either Roma or Lazio, he has caused strong reactions by fans of the two hated opponents, who strongly disagree – emphasizing, of course, in their majority that they have unlimited respect for the Italian legend – with this possibility.
