With a second victory in the final of the Europe Cup table tennis, Enebon of Sgouropoulos

by

With Yannis Sgouropoulos as the main player, Enebon defeated the “compatriot” of Pontoise Serzi for the second time, this time 3-0 sets, and qualified for the final of the table tennis Europe Cup and will claim the trophy.

Sgouropoulos, who has been performing exceptionally well lately, will become the third Greek athlete to take part in a European Interclub Cup final wearing a foreign team jersey after Kallinikos Kreanga and Panagiotis Gionis.

Up against Pontoise of three European trophies, Enebon had shown from the first semi-final that they had the odds on their side. At the home of the opponent, he prevailed with a 3-1 set, getting the positive result from Sgouropoulos and on Wednesday night he was called to take advantage of the advantage. He managed to do it without much pressure, as indeed Podois appeared to throw in a …white towel.

In relation to Monday’s match, he had changed the team by 2/3 and included two teenagers in the squad. France’s Laros and Cabrera from the Dominican Republic, who replaced French champions Tristan Floret, Emmanuel Lebesson, who may be strong for their age group, but at this level they cannot be fully competitive.

Thus, Enebon cruised unchallenged to the final 3-0 to 9-0 in straight sets and the 1,100 fans in their sports center may not have enjoyed a big game, but they celebrated emphatic progress to the European Cup double final and the team for its European distinction.

Sgouropoulos, however, took on a difficult task because from position 2 of Enebonne he faced again, as last Monday, the Frenchman Esteban Dor, the first player of Podois. The four-time European champion continued his wonderful performances and with a solid performance and very good concentration he won with 3-0 sets.

In detail, the progress of the match Enebonne-Podois 3-0:

Christian Carlson-Thomas Laros 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-5)

Yannis Sgouropoulos-Esteban Dorr 3-0 (11-8, 11-9, 11-8)

Anders Lind-Rafael Cabrera 3-0 (11-6, 11-5, 11-4)

One semi-final of the European Cup was a French affair, the second will be Polish. With Gionis back on the cards, Bogoria plays the first match against Dzialdovo away from home on Thursday at 17:40 in Greece.

The rematch is scheduled for 02/22.
