In Cottbus, Germany, this year’s season will begin for the National Gymnastics Team.

Seven Greek champions – among them, of course, Lefteris Petrounias – will claim this year’s first world ranking points at the Turnier der Mester World Cup, which will take place from February 23 to 26.

The seven-member team consists of Lefteris Petrounias (hoop), Nikos Iliopoulos (double, single), Apostolos Kanellos (side horse, single), Konstantinos Konstantinidis (hoops), Stefanos Tsolakidis (side horse, double), Christina Kiosi (vault, balance beam) , ground) and Areti Pagoni (asymmetric balance beam, balance beam, ground).

The federal technicians Dimitris Raftis, Theofilos Lalechos, Vassilis Tsolakidis, Kostas Hatzizisis, the physiotherapist Ivana Tzourits and the international judges Nikos Provias and Georgia Zygoulis will travel with them.

The competition program starts on Thursday (23/2) with qualifiers in the first five instruments. The men will compete on floor, pommel horse and rings and the women on vault and uneven bars.

On Friday (24/2) the preliminaries will be completed, with the men competing in vault, double balance, single balance and the women in balance beam and floor.

The instrument finals will be held on the weekend (25-26/2).

We remind you that the points won by each athlete in the series of World Cups in Cottbus, Doha, Baku and Cairo will determine in each organ the ranking, based on which the tickets for the pre-Olympic world championships in Antwerp will be distributed.
