The 33-year-old ace, who lived for five years in Turkey and Istanbul, wearing the Fenerbahce jersey, is taking a commendable action, gathering essentials for the people of the two countries.
In fact, through his personal Instagram account, calls the world to help in this project, gathering food, blankets, etc., in specific places of Thessaloniki.

“My thoughts and prayers are from day one to every person in Turkey and Syria who is losing their loved ones. In the most tragic earthquake of recent years, I can’t help but feel pain when I have lived there since the best years of my sports career.
Love is beyond colors. Above the quarrels. Above fear. Love is what drives us all to support any such struggle. It is not the quantity that matters, but the act.
I want to actively help both the people of Turkey for whom I am grateful and also the people of Syria. Surely one want is not enough, not even one is enough. All together, however, we can!
