Next Saturday, February 25, 2023, the Supreleague 1 championship match between PAE OLYMPIAKOS and PAE PANATHINAIKOS will be held at the “G. KARAISKAKIS”. We take it for granted that you are aware of the special importance of these matches, beyond the criticality of the specific match at the point where we are in this year’s championship.
Insisting on our firm and unwavering desire to this day that the derby matches of the league take place under the best possible conditions, we invite you once again to appoint a foreign Referee from the Elite category of UEFA Referees from the top six (6) European leagues (England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands) in order to manage the specific game.
You are well aware that the first round match between the two teams was marked and ultimately determined by the unacceptable decisions of a completely inept and bad referee, which not only altered the result of that match but also the overall standings of the league. It is your duty this time to make the choice that will ensure that the result on the field will be determined by the performance of the teams and not by the “inventions” of a tourist who will come to Greece for a nice weekend.
We recommend you to avoid ridiculous excuses that supposedly these Arbitrators cannot come because of obligations, or because of expenses, etc. In previous years, the top level foreign arbitrators did not have less obligations nor were their appeal costs less. And yet, they came to Greece and managed the league matches normally. Therefore, raising such objections simply exposes you more.
In the event that once again you fail to secure the presence of a UEFA Elite Referee from the six (6) top European leagues (England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands) to referee the match, this will be solely due to either in your incompetence (or the incompetence of Mr. Baltakos, or Mr. Mandalos, or whoever appoints the arbitrators…), or in your reluctance, or in both – which is the most likely version.
Finally, we inform you that if you do not meet your basic obligation to hold the match under the best conditions and if the course of the match is determined by the refereeing decisions, we make you solely responsible for the absolute trivialization of the Greek championship of Superleague 1.
