Bayer Leverkusen stop in Freiburg

The chance to climb to second place in the standings and catch Bayern Munich and Union Berlin (both with a match less) was wasted by Freiburgstaying tied at home with Bayer Leverkusen (1-1), for the 22nd matchday of the Bundesliga.

In the crowded and snow-covered Europa-Park Stadion, the hosts were fortunate to take the lead in the 28th minute, with a stunning free kick by Riddle from 25-30 meters!

The “Aspirins” pushed for an equaliser, coming close to the goal on three good occasions before half-time.

In the replay, the visitors’ pressure paid off, with Amzun in the 67th minute to make it 1-1 with a close shot after Baker’s turn.

Result, with which Freiburg stayed at fifth place of the standings with 41 points and at -5 from the top, with Bayer on the other hand, remaining 11th with 28 points.
