Regarding his return to competitive action, which is expected tomorrow (28/2), he spoke Novak Djokovic. The Serbian star opens his duties at the Dubai tournament against Tomas Machacs, where he will play for the first time in a month due to the left adductor injury he suffered at the Australian Open.

In statements he made in the context of the event, Nole said, among other things, that in the last week he does not feel pain, while slowly it is expected to return to 100%.

In detail what he said:

“Dubai in the last 10-15 years has become one of the most important destinations for tennis players, men and women. Many come here in the offseason, myself included. I try to spend 1-2 weeks in December and come in February to the tournament. The climate is fantastic and the conditions and facilities excellent. People love tennis here. I feel very comfortable. I have great support from the people here and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere at the stadium again.

It was challenging in Australia with the injury. I knew what I was going through and so did my team. That makes the win in Melbourne even more important. I didn’t train at all between the races in Australia. I was just warming up before the games I had. Fortunately I had prepared well in the run up to Melbourne.

For the last week I have no pain at all. I feel good on the pitch and I’m close to 100%. I’m not there yet but it’s a process.”
