The previous announcements of the English government that it is in the final stage for the creation independent regulatory authoritywhich will control a wide range of parameters, including the financial data of teams and clubs, seems to have caused considerable concern in its high echelons FIFA.
Specifically in the World Football Federation, significant disagreements are expressed as to whether and to what extent the creation and operation of such an Authority is in accordance with the rules. Concerns focus on Article 15 of the Good Governance Laws and the fact that any political interference should be avoided at all costs.
THE FIFA appears willing to launch an investigation in order to check whether the presence of this particular body violates the autonomy of the English association, while for the government taking measures is considered imperative and necessary in order to ensure a sustainable future for English football.
It is recalled that the five main axes of its operation independent regulatory authority which the English are preparing to create were the following:
– Preventing English teams from participating in “closed” leagues, which can damage the prestige and momentum of domestic competitions.
– Preventing teams from future financial bankruptcy and financial doping.
– Introducing stricter checks on team owners and presidents to protect fans and teams.
– Giving fans the ability to stop potential moves by owners to change names, colors or anything else that alters club traditions.
– Fairer distribution of money to the lower divisions of English football, in the form of a pyramid.
