He passed through Brittany and… Marseille is wrapped with the “sheet”!

Marseille is “wrapped” with the… sheet! The Marseilles passed Brittany by beating Rennes 1-0 and firmly established themselves in second place in Ligue 1. In fact, they are +4 behind their pursuers and look ready for their return to the Champions League, the new season.

Rennes came into the match strongly, asking for a penalty with Spence in the 10th minute and five minutes later had a post with Guiry, while in the 17th minute it was Marseille’s turn to shout for a penalty after Guduzzi fell. The crazy pace continued with Kalimuendo having a great chance to score in the 29th minute, as did Ekabi two minutes later! In the end, 0-0 remained as the finale of the first part, which was unfair to the home team.

Marseille made a better start to the second half and “froze” Rennes with Kolazinachs opening the scoring in the 57th minute. In fact, the guests kept their lead with relative comfort, but they almost equalized at 90’+5′, but Teate failed to beat Pau Lopes and the home team eventually suffered defeat.

Earlier, Lyon made another upset after being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Lorient. Somehow, the two teams remained in the middle of the standings and the “Lyons” far from the European places, continuing their bad course in the season.
