He’s back on the tracks on his own NASCAR The Jenson Button!

Her world champion Formula 1 in 2009 in the Mercedes Brown car, he agreed to run in three races of the top class (Cup Series), in the highly competitive US championship.

In particular, it will run on the tracks of Austin (March 26), Chicago (July 2) and Indianapolis (August 13), with the No. 15 Mobil 1 Ford Mustangs by Rick Ware Racing.

“The most important thing for me is to enjoy it. I love having new driving challenges. Obviously these cars are very different from what I’m used to. They are much heavier, with much lower power and most importantly, without generating downforce. They have a serial gearbox where you have to play with the pedals too, so there is a lot to learn in a short amount of time. But he’s excited about this new challenge and I’m not approaching it as a guest appearance. I want to be competitive, although I know it will take time.”said the British driver.

Button has 306 races in the Formula 1 championshipin which it last appeared 2017, when he replaced Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix, driving for McLaren. Since then, it has run on Japanese Super GT Championship and the category GT500in the World Endurance Championshipbut also in some off-road tests.
