Nikos Polydoros will return from the Romanian European Submission Wrestling Championship with the silver medal. The Greek champion performed very well in the 77 kg Gi category and in his first game he overcame the French Manzo, as the final 4-4 went in his favor. He then faced Ukrainian Pipilenko and won 6-0.
In the semi-final, he faced Roumano Boucalet and prevailed 2-0, securing a place in the final. There, Polydoros faced the Ukrainian Maksimchiuk. After an exciting game he was defeated in details 5-3 and won the second place and the silver medal of the event.
Ilias Boukis also participated in the event. The latter, after the fifth place in the World Championship, repeated the same success in Romania. Boukis first faced world champion Malin and was defeated 7-3. The Ukrainian champion easily reached the final and gave Boukis a second chance.
The Greek repechage champion qualified against Romanian Florea and fought for the bronze medal against Hazen, but the Israeli took advantage of his experience and defeated Boukis.
