Since the middle of last week, there has been intense talk in France of Michel Platini’s possible ‘return’ to football, with a move by the once UEFA strongman to take over as president of the French Football Federation (FFF), in place of resigned Noel Le Gre.
The old great ace of the “blues”, however, in an interview he gave to Radio Monte Carlo (RMC) denied any possibility of his involvement with football.
“We’re going to clear some things up, I’m prepared for that. I made a declaration in July when I got rid of my business in Switzerland. I said I will not go back to football institutions anymore. It seems to me that the French Federation is part of the football authorities. So I will not return to football or the French FederationPlatini emphasized and added:
“I have no will to take power. I’ve had enough in the past. I was vice president of the Federation 30 years ago, I did everything. Okay, that’s enough! And the other day I did not discuss this possibility in the meeting I had with the French Minister of Sports. I love the life I lead so much, I don’t need to go back. Why return to football?».
