Knocked Bayern off the top with epic upset via… VAR Leverkusen!

by

THE Bayer Leverkusen he won 2-1 by overturning her Bayern Munichin the framework of the 25th matchday of this year’s Bundesliga and… set fire to the top of the German league, after knocking it from the first place in the standings!

After a “quiet” first half, in which the Bavarians took a half-time lead thanks to Kimmich’s goal in the 22nd minute from… close – with the German international midfielder reaching four goals this season already surpassing his tally last year – everything looked “double”.

After all, in the previous 19 times Bayern had gone 1-0 up, they had a record 15 wins, four draws and… zero losses!

They calculated, however, without Adli who was the main protagonist of the overthrow of the “aspirins”. As the French ace was the one who won two penalties, which were awarded in… second time with the use of VAR and while in normal flow the referee Stiller had “yellowed” him in both cases, for “theatre”…

Penalties which Palasios executed accurately, in the 55th and 73rd minutes of the match, to make it 2-1 in favor of Leverkusen, who then defended their lead with “hero” Hratetski. As the Finnish keeper saved efforts from Gnabry, Sane and Davies in the 86th and 88th minutes.

With Bayern going into the league break now second, one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund and coming up… Klassiker in the background.
