Yannis Konstantelias, who was called up for the Euro qualifiers match with Gibraltar and the friendly match with Lithuania, spoke about the new page that opens before him, with his call-up to the National Team for the first time.

The 20-year-old midfielder spoke about the reception of his teammates and his collaboration with Gustavo Poget, while referring to the goals he has set.

In detail, what he said:

For his call: “I am proud. It is an important moment for me to be here. I want to train quickly and get to know the kids better”

About whether he expected things to happen so quickly: “Everything happens fast in football. One day you are here, the next there. And that’s how things are in life.”

About what he thinks he can do with the National Team: “I believe that if we work with the team we can go high. Let’s play in events like the EURO and the World Cup and see if we can have distinctions as well.”

For if he is stressed: “I have a little anxiety, but not much.”

On how he handles the buzz around his name: “I try to stay away from social media and all that. Not to see anything.”

About how the old ones welcomed him to the National Team: “They welcomed me as a friend. Everyone speaks well to me. Everything is fine”.

For the EURO qualifiers: “We will give 100% in every match and do our best.”

About whether he expected things to turn out so quickly for him: “I had it in the back of my mind that it could happen because I believe in myself, but it really all happened quickly.”

As to whether he is reading any of the rest of the internationals: “Many are good players and I admire many. I can’t say anyone in particular.”

On whether he has spoken to Poget: “She is very good. He received me well.”

For the positions he likes to fight for: “I like to play at ten or extreme.”
