by

THE AEK celebrated a great victory over him Panathinaikou on Saturday night (25/03), prevailing 77-73 of the “greens” in the Indoor of Ano Liosion and in the framework of the 20th game of the Basket League.

With his statements to the ERT camera, Mr Vassilis Xanthopoulos, referred to this great victory, stressing among other things that the “Union” in “home” her can beat everyone!

At the same time, he referred to future of the team this season, but also in his own offer to the club.

The statements of Vassilis Xanthopoulos in detail:

For the match: “Big win. For me, I would not like to say anything. It is certainly great for many reasons. We needed it, we lost badly here. As with Lavrio, Aris, PAOK. We had to ref. We have proven that both this year and 2018 anyone can win and lose. In the last 1.5 months we made good appearances.

Unfortunately we had the injury of Strelnieks. We will miss him. Today we found losses from within. We chase all the matches. AEK is a great team. Regardless of the fact that in the last two years we did not have the image we should. I think if we have our health and are humble we will have a good end.”

On how the new players were integrated into AEK: “Both Kostis Godikas and Jankovic came to a team they have played before. Pierre who has experience. The big question mark was Lemar, but he turned out to be the missing piece as he has a very nice vertical game.”

For the championship: “Very interesting league. The image of Olympiakos is very good. I hope we beat him. Our team over here can beat everybody. All teams can win everywhere, that’s been proven.”

For his own sequel: “We’ve said it before. The season ends and we’ll see.”

On what he offers to his teammates: “We also need the scorer. We need everyone, it’s a team sport. What I try to show the younger teammates is that I still have the appetite. We are lucky to be able to make a profession of the game we love.”
