The return to victories and good performances was achieved by Olympic on Sunday night (26/03) at SEF, winning with typical comfort100-70 of PAOKas part of the 20th season of the Basket League.
On his return Giorgos Bartzokas on the team’s bench after missing two games due to a virus, the “red and whites” exuded energy and spirit on the court, looking ready for the devil’s week which also follows the home games with Villerban (29/03) and Panathinaikos (31/03) for the Euroleague.
From the end of the first period onwards, the Piraeus fully imposed their pace, not allowing the “Northern Doubleheader” to threaten, while keeping the difference at high levels. In fact, in the last period, the hosts put their foot on the “gas” with one partial score 34-18 blew the difference, extending their winning streak to 20-0 in the league.
The match:
THE Olympic started with Sluka, Luntzi, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov and Fal in his starting five, with PAOK starting with Franke, Riley, Margariti, Salustro and Renfro. The Reds started the match well and took an early 5-0 lead, before PAOK went on an 8-0 run to overtake (5-8) in 3′.
