PAOK amateur: “We demand respect”

by

PAOK has complaints from the refereeing in the match with Panionios in Nea Smyrni for the A1 men’s polo and, thus, on Thursday issued a statement to protest, asking for respect for its history, being the club with the most amateur divisions in Greece, and not be counted as the “poor relative” and a second class group.

In detail, the announcement:

“With this letter we want to draw attention and declare in every direction that we will no longer tolerate such open, embarrassing, outside of the rules and humiliating treatment of our team, such as that of the two referees of the GS Panionios – AS PAOK match, Christos Kourtidis and Aegea Pantelis, for the Men’s A1 category water polo championship.

And we will not deal with the result, our sport and the further continuation of the championship.

PAOK claims, demands and claims, above all and beyond all, the RESPECT that befits the immense history of our club, as the flag bearer of North Helladic sports and holding the first place in Greece in the number of divisions and athletes in all amateur sports and not only.

Some insist on treating our team as a ‘poor relative’ or as a B-class neighborhood association for reasons that may serve petty personal interests and entangled relationships.

Now, no one will steal the effort and reduce the effort of our players without facing the consequences that belong to them to the MAX.”
