Olympiacos scored 13 against Panathinaikos!

For about 36 minutes the “eternal” derby was open, with Wezenkoff, Walkup and Black to “speak” in the end and the “red and white” to prevail 81-73 of Panathinaikoufor the 13th win in a row across them!

At the same time, the Piraeus team climbed to the 23-9 and remained at the top, while on the other hand the “greens” retreated to 11-21.

Then, the Piraeus persisted wrongly from the perimeter, as a result of which the “clover” stuck aggressively on the other side with the “hot” Bacon taking the lead and reaching +5 (31-36), at 18′. Peters “unstuck” the hosts, but Agravanis’ offensive rebounds sent the visitors to the locker room with +5 (33-38).

With repeated good defenses and Vezenkov’s appetite, Olympiacos entered the second half strongly and with individual scores of 11-1, made the turnaround for the lead and +5 (44-39), in the first two minutes. Then, the “red and white” took control through their defense, forcing the “green” into mistakes and bad attacks and they went to +9 (55-46), at 28′. In the remaining time, both were badly missed and 57-48 in the third period was shaped by the shots of Bacon and Walkup.

Panathinaikos started the fourth quarter more focused defensively and with forward Lee making repeated steals, the “greens” ran on the open field and with Grigonis and Mandzouka went on an 8-0 run, getting closer to the point (57-56), in the first two minutes . Olympiacos “unstuck” with Black’s basket and foul, for +4 (60-56), but Lee and Mantzoukas responded again, reducing the difference to a point (63-62), in the 34th minute. The reaction of the “red and white” Black and Slukas for +6 (68-62), at 35′. However, the “clover” responded with defenses and Papagiannis, reducing the difference again to a point (68-67), in the 36th minute. There, Vezenkov returned to the court and with a big three-pointer together with a basket from Black sent the home team to +6 (73-67). Lee and Mandzoukas brought the guests to -3 (75-72), with Walkap’s three-pointer giving Olympiakos new… breath, for +6 (78-72), in the 39th minute. In Piraeus they were in control and reached victory with the final 81-73.
