Enraged with refereeing decisions in PAOK’s derby with AEK, Ingi Ingason appeared in his statements after the match
In detail what he said to the NOVA camera:
“I think we made it difficult, we got carried away and played one-touch football, we fell into AEK’s trap especially in the first half. We knew he would push us high, in the second we controlled the game and the result would be judged in the details. We knew it, we didn’t make it and it makes us very bitter.
On whether he agrees with the fact that PAOK was the one who had more pressure for the game: “There was no pressure for either team, it was a game that especially in the second half we dominated but we didn’t have the key details, we paid for a mistake and that pretty much decided the game.”
On AEK’s goal phase and PAOK’s protests for an offensive foul at the start of the phase: “We can’t say that, we had worked well. We knew who AEK is, what their game is. It was all about the details. We paid for our mistakes. It is clear to me that there is a foul in the AEK goal, so the phase started before he scored. I asked him to see it on VAR. The details always come at our expense. Everyone should use VAR correctly. We pay for other people’s mistakes that cost us. Again, it’s a clear foul. We all saw it except the referee. Our player was knocked down by the opponent. A violation has occurred. We are tired of this thing happening all the time. We play by the rules of the game and we want the referees to do the same.”
