Corberan: “Proud to be at Olympiakos – The coach doesn’t have much time”

After his dismissal, the Spanish coach took over West Brom and led them from the penultimate position to ninth and only -5 from the promotion playoffs positions in the Premier League.

“Every environment is different. I had the opportunity to coach Olympiacos, a team with a long European tradition and it makes me proud to have been part of this European experience“, the 40-year-old technician told Marca.

On his impressive improvement in West Brom’s standings and being rewarded with a contract extension until 2027 he said: “There are still eight matches left and we will do a fundraiser at the end. Certainly, however, we managed to reverse the negative dynamics we had in the team. I realized from the beginning that the roster was much better than our standings indicated and as a coach my goal was to get the most out of my players. For me it is a privilege to have the trust of the club and the challenge to bring the team back to the Premier League, where it deserves to be».
