According to the latest information, the decision to hold the final in Cyprus was not unanimous. There was one negative vote by Takis Agrafiotis, one of the Super League representatives on the EPO Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee of the Hellenic Football Federation during today’s meeting took the following decisions.
– The final of the Greek Cup will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the “GSP” stadium in Nicosia.
-The annual regular General Assembly of EPO will be held in Athens on Friday, June 30, 2023.
– The extension of the Super League 2 championship until June 18 was approved.
It is recalled that the Achilles Beosmayor of Volos, lifted a ban on the holding of the final at Panthessal for fear of incidents. There does not seem to be another stadium outside of Athens and Thessaloniki that meets the conditions, and that is how we came to the solution of Nicosia. On top of that, after the elections were set for May 21, it would be impossible to hold the final on Greek soil on their eve (20/5).
