The Panhellenic wrestling championship for athletes under the age of 17, held in Pyrgos, started in the best way. The city that hosted the Panhellenic Championship for the first time made an impression by hosting high-level competitions, as the athletes gave their best in order to reach the podium and earn a place in the national team.
The interest was particularly great and it is worth noting that everyone embraced the event. The games were honored with their presence by the members of parliament of Ilia Dionysia Theodora Augerinopoulou, Andreas Nikolakopoulos, Dionysis Kalamatianos, Michalis Katrinis, the Mayor of Pyrgos Panagiotis Antonakopoulos, the deputy regional governor of Sports of Western Greece Dimitris Nikolakopoulos and local actors.
The matches were of a high standard and the athletes deservedly won the applause of the packed gymnasium.
In the Greco-Roman competitions, Archelaos won the gold medal with 70 points, followed by Titan Pyrgos with 52 and PAOK with 36.
