Demis: “Panathinaikos dominated the center – Jovanovic says ‘don’t underestimate my team'”

The derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos was commented by Demis Nikolaidis on his show on Nova. He stood on the points that decided the match, pointing out that the greens were completely faithful to Ivan Jovanovic’s plan.

“Jovanovic says “don’t underestimate my team” and when he said that, Panathinaikos was not at his best. It was the third derby between the two teams and the first in which Panathinaikos was better. Olympiacos was better in the previous two.

Panathinaikos blew our minds with their line-up, but what did they do with it? I saw a Panathinaikos playing 4-5-1 in defense, but also the five midfielders doing a terrible job and pressure and coming out with three attackers in attack. Palacios and Bernard were amazing in pressing and playing as midfielders. That was his behavior

He dominated the center and that’s where the game was decided. Also, Panathinaikos had many distinguished players. Magnuson, Sanchez… I can’t tell you a Panathinaikos player who wasn’t good.

Olympiacos seemed inferior to us, because Panathinaikos was more pressing. But, from phases if you look at the game, Olympiacos also had good moments. In Masura’s phase, he could score.
