PAOK-Olympiakos: For the tie, the “double-headed of the north”, for the break, the “red and whites”

Title derby act two!

PAOK and Olympiacos face each other tonight (7:30 p.m., EPT3, sport-fm.gr) in Pylaia for the second final of the Men’s Volleyball League.

The two teams, after their recent meeting at the indoor gym of Rentis “Melina Merkouris” in which the team from Piraeus prevailed 3-1 set, are preparing for a great duel which will prove to be of pivotal importance for the outcome of the champion’s title.

The host PAOK wants to equalize the series and obtain a psychological result, having as a guide the winning set of the first final in which they made it difficult for the “red and whites” but also the recent Cup final in which they prevailed 3-1 winning the trophy for the fourth consecutive season. Josko Milekonski’s team does not want to repeat the same mistakes and has prepared properly to tie the series.

PAOK’s coach made statements regarding this important match: “It is definitely one of the most important games of this season. The battle for the title continues. We lost our first game after a three-month unbeaten streak, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything because every game has its own story. We are playing against one of the best teams in recent years, which has on its roster high-level players who have won many trophies. I believe we are on the same level. We will need to remain calm in the important moments of the game, and be completely focused. With the dynamic support of our fans, I believe we can put on a high-level performance and get a good result.”

On the other side, Olympiacos traveled to Thessaloniki with the aim of victory, which will bring them one step away from the title, and they prevailed impressively in the first final. The “red and white” do not face any competition problems and have as an additional motivation their first victory in Pylaia this season.

The coach of the Piraeus team Alberto Giulianisaid about the match:

“It’s the second match of the finals of the playoffs, it’s very important the second game. Let’s give our best, our 100%, to pressure PAOK from the start. It won’t be easy to win. What is certain, however, is that we will fight to achieve it.”

This will be the fifth overall meeting between PAOK and Olympiakos this season with the victories being shared, while we remind you that the champion will be the one who counts three victories in the finals.
