Despite a bit of tragedy with him Michael Zelambal!
The captain of Salon suffered a stroke during his team’s training, but he was lucky and is now out of danger.
The former French international showed alarming symptoms in training last Monday (17/4) and was quickly taken to the hospital, where it was realized that he had suffered a slight stroke!
However, the great veteran forward is now out of danger, as his team informed in a press release:
“During Monday morning’s practice, I felt such symptoms that I was rushed to the emergency room at Salon Hospital. Then the MRI detected a stroke. Fortunately, we caught it in time, I was immediately hospitalized and underwent additional tests in the intensive care unit and then in neurology”Zelambal said.
“Today I am happy to announce that I am back home”the 39-year-old reassured fans. “However, I will need to rest for several weeks before resuming professional activity and unfortunately will not be able to return for the end of the season. I hope my condition will improve with time and I will be allowed to return to court.”
Zelambal has had a great career, including a stint in the NBA (2006-2008) with the Seattle Supersonics and one more season (2012/13) in Minnesota Timberwolvesas well as presence in great teams such as Real, Villerban, Khimki, Valencia and Strasbourg.
