Djokovic won the appeal for the revocation of his visa!

by

The Melbourne court acquitted Novak Djokovic in his dispute with the government of the country. The decision that came out shortly before 8:30 am Greek time (noon in Australia) considered the revocation of the visa of the Serbian tennis player wrong, who had been barred from entering the country because he had not been vaccinated.

“Nole”‘s lawyers claimed (submitting a 35-page memorandum) that the visa revocation was illegal, as the athlete had recently become ill and therefore had the right to travel to the country, based on what the tennis players had been informed by the competent authorities.

The judge ruled to reactivate Djokovic’s visa, to be released from the detention hotel where he was staying for the last five days within 30 minutes of the announcement of his verdict, but also to cover the costs of the trial by the Australian government.

However, even now the participation of the nine-time winner of the Australian Open in the Grand Slam of Melbourne, which starts on January 17, is not 100% given. As pointed out by the Australian media, the country’s Ministry of Interior and Immigration, has the right to ban the presence of the athlete in the country and to … demand his departure.

However, as the judge made clear, if this “force” is used by the government, Djokovic will not be able to enter Australia for three years according to regulations!
