Don’t underestimate the heart of champions. The Warriors bounced back from 0-2 hell to tie the Kings with a second straight win in San Francisco, this time with 126-125. Steve Kerr’s team almost killed themselves in the finals, but his (former Golden State player) three-pointer Harrison Barnes did not find a target.
THE Steph Curry with 32 points (5/11 three-pointers), 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Klay Thompson with 26 points and Jordan Poole with another 22 were the first scorers for the winners. The help of Andrew Wiggins (18 points), Draymond Green (12 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists) and Kevon Looney (8 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists) was also important. For the losers o DeAaron Fox had 38 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, while Keegan Murray added 23 and Malik Monk added 16.
The game was balanced in the first half, but in the third twelve minutes the hosts with a partial 37-23 escaped with a double-digit difference, 102-92. Sacramento dropped to a point (116-115) in the last five minutes and with a three-pointer by Fox, it got closer to 126-125 at 27 seconds. Curry missed a rather rushed layup leaving 10.5” for the Kings to steal the game. Fox closed down and passed to Barnes, but under pressure he missed the mark.
The fourth race will take place in the early hours of Thursday (05:00) in Sacramento.
Twelve minutes: 31-32, 65-69, 102-92, 126-125
