Toliopoulos: “We deserved 5th place, it’s a blessing to play in Alexandreio”

THE Mars completed his playing obligations this season, knowing the elimination in the first round of the Basket League playoffs with 2-0 from Olympiakos.

Speaking on EEC web radio, Mr Vasilis Toliopoulosreferred to this year’s “yellow” season, stressing among other things that they deserved to finish in 5th place of the regular season, while at the same time he did special mention in the club world.

In addition, the 26-year-old guard stood in his first impressions from France and Bulazakwith which he signed a one-month contract until the end of the season.

What Vassilis Toliopoulos said in detail:



On what he found in Bulazak: “I came to the team on Monday. I can say that it is very organized as a team and management, they took me straight away to show me the stadium, my house, I had my car. I am very pleased with my first hours here.”

About when the interest arose: “On the day of the first game with Olympiakos they told me that there is interest. The next day we discussed it and then I sent the signed contract. All of this happened suddenly.”

On the reason he went to Bulazak: “The most important thing for me was to see how they work abroad, because it is in my mind to go abroad at some point to play a whole season. I wanted to open my horizons and in general it is good for me, because I will not stop playing from now, but I will be in a competitive rhythm until the end of May or the beginning of June”.

For this season: “Thank God, personally this season went quite well. I’m a bit sad that with the team we didn’t manage to finish in the position we deserved, namely 5th place. I’m sure that even without “crabs” the team should be 4th-5th. That’s how things happened, but the season is over, we’ll move on and see.”



To support the world on Mars: “What we all experienced as a team this year, to have the stadium almost full in every game, if not completely full, is something that does not exist in all of Greece. The world has shown a love you don’t come across easily. He doesn’t care if the team wins or loses, he just wants to see that you’re trying and giving your 100%. I believe we did this 1000% and for that there was a mutual love. It’s definitely something I’d like to experience again, it’s a blessing to play at home and have so many people come to the stadium. We thank all the people of Mars for all this this year.”

As for whether he thinks the event should be in the calls of the national team: “I hope that I have had a year that makes an impression on the coaches of the national team and that they call me. For me, it will certainly be a great honor and a great joy to be in the National Team.”
