Nunies for AEL: “Players concede goals or are sent off because there is too much betting”

by

With the worst words about his presence at AEL, he spoke Sergio Nunes.

The Uruguayan footballer, who was acquired as borrowed from Peñarol last January from Larissa, in order to help the club return to the Stoiximan Super League, he did incredible revelations regarding his stay in the Thessalian city.

Speaking to “futbol.com.uy” of his homeland, mentioned, among other things, how “players concede goals or are sent off because the stakes are too high”, while he also talked about the living conditions, saying that they had not found him a house and he had no money for food.

With the jersey of AEL, the Latin American footballer performed three entries, counting one goal and one assist in 174 minutes of participation.

His statements in detail:

“I’ve been living in a hotel since I came to Greece in January and they still haven’t found me a house. Luckily I’m with my girlfriend who speaks English and I can communicate through her. I went to the team office and fought for my money. I had never experienced a similar situation. It’s the worst thing I’ve experienced since I’ve been involved in football.

The week I arrived I made my debut with a goal and an assist. I thought I would stay temporarily in a hotel. I was told 15 days at the most. The contract I signed provides for a house and a car, but they didn’t give me anything. It’s an awkward situation, because we live in a 5×5 house. Leaving Peñarol I came with much less money to Greece for an opportunity in a team that was presented to me as great. I leave, however, disappointed. I am talking to my lawyers to get paid and get out of my contract. I had such a bad time that I want to leave, but I don’t want to leave without any money either.

The league was suspended because the teams had no money. Everyone left and I was left alone. It was crazy. They said I didn’t play because of an ankle injury. Now they are telling the media that I am not playing because of a sprain, but they are lies. I’m at 100%, but I can’t communicate it. I was on loan until December, but I’m not going to stay for what I’ve been through. Fortunately Peñarol officials offered me money to return.

In the hotel we don’t have to cook. At one point we had 10 euros and they wouldn’t even let us eat. I was thinking about my girlfriend. In Peñarol I never experienced anything like this. Football in Greece is not better, but I thought about the opportunity of Europe. What I experienced here I hope I will never experience again in my life.

Communication with my teammates is very difficult because of the language and they are a bit distant. In Uruguay they feel for you if you need something, here they don’t. Since the teams don’t pay I have found that players get reds or concede goals because the stakes are so high! You can expect everything!

I regretted going to a team, which is in decline. He spent many years in the first division and has won titles. A president comes to put money, but they are all gangsters. There are three, four security guards walking around the stadium with guns.”
