The “royal blue” managed to pull off a huge turnaround at the end and… beat Werder Bremen 2-1 at homereducing the difference from salvation to just one point, four games before the finale.
The “greens” took the lead with a goal by Dukes in the 18th minute and kept it for more than an hour of the match, with Van Den Berg and Drexler turning into golden changes for Schalke!
Both went into the match in the final quarter, with the Dutchman equalizing in the 81st minute and the German completing the huge turnaround in the second minute of stoppage time.
