The “Antonis Tritsis” indoor gym put on its… goodies again this year and hosted for three days a wonderful celebration, namely the second international table tennis tournament of Kefalonia for athletes with disabilities, which honored great athletes of the Paralympic community and, of course, the trust of the world federation of Olympic sport.
With effort and passion, the “hosts” overcame objective difficulties and rose to the occasion, garnering new positive reviews. The finale was also “sweet” from a competitive point of view, in fact, as Maria-Ismini Kaipi won the bronze medal in class 14 of the standing mixed doubles with teammate Ben Despine from Belgium.
It was the country’s third medal at the ITTF Greek Para Open 2023, as they were preceded by the gold of Marios Hatzikyriakos in class 6 of the uprights and the silver of Grigoris Chrysikos in class 1 of the wheelchair athletes.
The games were organized by the National Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities (EAOM-AAMeA) in collaboration with the Hellenic Table Tennis Federation, the Municipality of Kefalonia, the Regional Unit of Kefalonia and Ithaca and the local A. S.E.A. Kefalonia-Ithaca.
