The former Real Madrid player, Geoffrey Taylorpublicly defended his former Real teammates Sergio Jules and Gerson Giabuchelli, who faced heavy criticism for their role in the brawls that took place in the second leg of the playoffs against Partizan in Madrid.
“I will always be a friend of Real Madrid. I don’t have much to say about the episodes. But I know that Yule and Giabuselli are not dirty players“, emphasized the American-Swedish guard/forward, who now plays for the Lithuanian Wolves.
“It was sad that all this happened. I’m sure they were disappointed to lose two games at home. There was a lot of passion and a lot of different emotions in the air and for that reason I don’t think it’s unusual for a little setback to happen in the game“, he added.
“Giabuselli apologized and I can say he’s a great guy. What happened during the match does not characterize him“, he continued, while to a question about whether the penalties imposed were sufficient, he answered: “Yes, for the most part, I think they made good decisions. It is very unfortunate situation for the players who will miss the games. I think all of us would like to see the third game of the series with a full roster».
