With three medals, the Greek team returns from the European Youth Boxing Championship that ended in Yerevan, Armenia. The national team finished their presence in the best way by winning a gold medal and two bronzes showing once again that the “blue and white gloves” leave… their mark wherever they go.
In particular, Panagiota Kouzilou in the final of her category (57 kg) faced the Danish Nadia Munkholm with incredible technique, faith and concentration, deservingly winning the gold medal for Greece.
In the semi-final (48 kg), Anna Maria Triphylli faced the Russian Lia Patlai in a match that was literally decided in the details, thus losing by majority decision, the “ticket” for the final of her category.
In the semi-final match (60 kg) that Danae Zenunllari fought against the Russian Elizaveta Tokareva, although she fought hard, she did not make it to the final and thus won the second bronze medal for the “blue and white gloves”.
The president of the Hellenic Boxing Federation, Haris Mariolis, commented on the new great success of the national team saying: “I am very proud, moved for all the children of our National Team. We have won another Gold Medal and 2 Bronzes in the Pan-European Championship and we are showing at the World level that Greek Boxing is rightfully the new rising force all over the world.
