After an amazing match, h Real Madrid prevailed with a score of 85-78 They were partisansbroke for the second time in a row and sent the series to a fifth game on Spanish soil.

However, the match was overshadowed by a tragic event in Belgrade. Specifically, on Thursday morning (4/5) a 14-year-old opened fire in a primary school, resulting in eight dead children and a guard!

THE Ioannis Papapetrou spoke to a Serbian media about the match between Partizan and Real, stressing however that it has no importance in front of what tragically happened in this school in Belgrade.

His statements in detail:

“They won two games and we are 2-2. First of all I want to express my condolences to the families of the victims of what happened. A horrifying moment. The world is different now. We came to play basketball and people lost their children. Obviously our thoughts are with them. I don’t have children, but the thought of sending them to school terrifies me. More stringent protection laws should be made. I want to thank those who came and supported us”

To tie the series at 2-2: “We are not sad about the 2-2 draw. To be honest, you can’t be sad when after all these years we’ve come this far. Of course it would be sweet to make it 3-0, 3-1. But now we go for a game, give 100%, we will be full with Kevin (Pander) in our line-up. I really believe that if any team deserves to be in the Final Four, it’s ours.”

On Eddie Tavares who made the difference in the Belgrade games: “Tavares is a great player. We have to adapt. For some reason he is here playing at this level. They came to fight and they deserved it, just like us in Madrid. Of course, the matches here were close. One or two details decided the victory. We will give it our all. The fans and the club deserve it, we are all working hard and we will fight.”
