Pesiridou vs. Christofi and Anastasia’s participation in the Gala Women Filotheis races

The 18-time Panhellenic champion in open and indoor high hurdles, Elisavet Pesiridou, will be on the starting line of the Filothei Women Gala on the 17th of the month, aiming to run a fast race and enjoy the race after the difficult indoor season. Her record is 12.93 from 2016.

Her teammate, Sofia Iosifidou, who broke the 14″ barrier last season, will also run in the same race.

The leading Cypriot high hurdles champion, Natalia Christofi (record 13.17), is coming to Filothei. The 26-year-old impressed in the indoor with her performances, but also with the fact that she “broke” the 8” barrier for the first time in the 60 meter hurdles, she is preparing to start the open season with a lot of appetite for correspondingly good performances.

The 23-year-old champion from Serbia, Anja Lukic, will compete for the second time in a row at the Filothei Women Gala. The 10-time Serbian champion, with a record of 13.26, was third in last year’s event and this year she will try to move higher in the rankings.

The champion from Romania, Anamaria Nesteriuc, will also compete for the second time in her career at the Filothei Women Gala, while the 21-year-old champion from Hungary, Victoria Forster, with a record of 13.12, completes the participation list.

In the 100 meters, Artemis Anastasiou will carry the weight of the one and only Greek participation in the competition. The 23-year-old sprinter, with a record of 11.54, will be at the stadium she is familiar with, aiming for distinction.

The sprinter from Switzerland, Salome Koret, who was fourth with the 4X100m relay team. at the Tokyo Olympics, he comes to Filothei. The 28-year-old champion, with a record of 11.12, almost never misses the big dates with her national team, while at the Filothei gala she will aim to win the race.

The silver medalist with the Polish team in the 4X100 relay at the European Championships in Munich, Magdalena Stefanovic, will also run in the 100 relay. In a high-profile race, the Pole will aim to improve her record of 11.35.

For the second year in a row, Milana Tirnaric will participate in the gala. The 14-time Serbian champion, with a record of 11.37, will return to the Filothei stadium with the aim of the best possible performance.

Her 20-year-old compatriot, Ivana Ilic, who last summer competed at the World U20 Championships in Kenya and was fifth in the 100 meters, will also participate in the gala. The European U20 runner-up in the 100, who has a record of 11.38, will test herself among top sprinters.

At the U20 World Championships in Nairobi, where Ilic was fifth, Hungary’s Victoria Forster was sixth. The young champion, who will also run in the hurdles, has a record of 11.46 while she has been crowned Hungarian champion 12 times.
