Tsitsipas: “I want to face Djokovic”

by

Stefanos Tsitsipas expressed his desire to play with Djokovic in the Rome tournament. The Greek tennis player mentioned that the Serb is an opponent that everyone wants to face and explained that this is logical as from the games with him you can develop your game.

“I want to face Djokovic, everyone wants to. I think it’s wrong not to want something like that, because that way you miss out on the best this game has to offer and you’re stuck with mediocrity. For me it is important to have these battles on the court, about which I can talk to my grandchildren”, said Tsitsipas and added:

“There are times when the routine hurts you and you want to do something else, be in another place and with someone else. But it’s important to have a strong mindset and remember why you’re doing it. When you get older and spend some years on tour, it becomes more of a lifestyle. When you do the same things every day and have to discipline your emotions you feel a bit like a robot, so it’s important to live in the moment when you’re on tour, to be a normal person and live for a while. It’s not easy and some players have a completely different approach, but that helped me a lot,” he concluded.
