Stoiximan Super League: “Barrage” stay in Nice!

by

Tonight, the curtain falls on the play-offs in this year’s Stoiximan Super League, with the Ionian-Lamia game looking like… a barrage of staying between the two teams.

The home team absolutely need a win to stay in the top flight, while the visitors are playing for two results tonight in Neapoli (the X makes them).

From there, we have Panaitolikos-OFI, Asteras Tripoli-Atromitos and Levadeakos-PAS Ioannina, with Viiotou being the first team to say goodbye to the Super League and will compete next year in the second division.

ASTERAS TRIPOLIS – FEARLESS

Asteras Tripoli and Atromitos will face each other for the 21st time with the team of Arkadia playing host. Asteras has won 11 of the games they have played between them, while there are three wins for the Peristeri team and seven draws.

The two teams will meet for the third time for the Playouts process, with their two previous encounters also taking place in Tripoli. In 2019-20 they drew 1-1, just like in 2021-22 (0-0), while their game in Tripoli also ended in a draw (1-1) for the regular duration of the championship.

Asteras Tripoli’s last home win against Atromitos was on November 27, 2021 with 6-2 and since then there have been five home and away matches between them, in which Atromitos prevailed in three and there were two draws.

IONIC – LAMIA

The two teams have played five matches in both venues so far in the Super League and in only one has the home team won. Their first match was on October 3, 2021 with Ionikos at home, where Lamia won 2-1, while in the Second Round they also won at home with the same score.

Ionikos prevailed in their game for the Playouts of that season 1-0, thanks to a goal by Vassilis Mantzis. The Ionikos striker has managed to score in three consecutive matches against Lamia with Ionikos and his streak was stopped on January 30, 2023, in the victory of the Nice team for the Second Round of this year’s championship.

The two teams met for the first time in their history in the 1965-66 season in the Second National League and most of the pages from their shared past are in the second division.

LEVADEIAKOS – PAS YIANNINA

PAS Ioannina prevailed in both matches of the regular season of the championship, 2-1 at home and 3-1 in the Second Round in Viotia.

There is no match between the two teams in which a goal has not been scored with Levadeiakos at home, since the four ties between them have been with goals, all 1-1.

Despite the several appearances of both teams in the 1st National League/Super League, they have only co-existed for ten seasons, although PAS Ioannina now has 29 appearances in the category and Levadeakos 19.

Now PAS Ioannina has not been defeated in its last three visits to Levadeakou’s headquarters in a long time, of course, since there were absences of both from the division. Levadeakou’s last home win over PAS Ioannina was on February 26, 2017 with a score of 2-1.

Levadeiakos are unbeaten in six Playouts matches and along with their last league matchday win over OFI, have completed a seven match unbeaten run in the Super League, with their absolute record being 9 matches at the end of the 2016-17 season .

PANAITOLIKOS – OFI

In the last six games of the two teams there is no victory for the home team, while in the last five the away team wins. OFI was the winner in this year’s match in Agrinio with 4-0 and Panaitolikos in Crete with 2-1.

The two sides have met twice so far in the Playouts, with Panaitolikos claiming a 1-0 win in 2021-22 and their other game ending in a 2-2 draw for 2020-21. This is the first time they will meet in Agrinio for the Playouts, since the previous two matches were played with OFI as host.

Panaitolikos has no victory in this year’s Playouts process, while its last match for this process was on April 30, 2022, when it beat OFI in Crete 1-0. That was also the only win he had made in the process for 2021-22, where he had a total of one win – two draws – four losses.
