Filothei Women Gala: Stefanidis and Triantafillou meet for the first time in Filothei

Katerina Stefanidis and Iliana Triantafyllou stand out among his pole vault entries, at the Filothei gala on May 17.

There are only a few left before her first race on Greek soil, for this year, Olympic pole vaulter Katerina Stefanidis. The Greek champion almost always has the Filothei Women Gala on her schedule and this will be her 12th time participating. Stefanidis has already started her season, from the Diamond League meeting in Doha with 4.55m. and comes to Filothei with the aim of improving this year’s record but also to score another victory in the institution.

The young European K18 champion, Iliana Triantafillou, will also be in the same match. The 17-year-old, with a record of 4.15m, has never competed in the same race as Stefanidis, and in the 24th gala she will have this opportunity. The young champion will compete for the first time in this meeting and hopes for the best possible result. The participation of the Greek women is completed by that of Eleni Claudia Pollak, who has a record of 4.70m.

The seven-time champion of Hungary, Hanga Kleckner, with a record of 4.45m. will compete in the gala as Turkish Balkan champion Demet Parlak (4.30m), Israel’s eight-time Israeli champion Naama Burstein (4.30m) and Australian Elysia Kensole (4.26m) round out the event’s entries.
