After almost 20 years in professional football, the Spanish striker made the decision to retire from the field.
At the age 38 years old the former forward of Baskonia, Bilbao, Juventus, Sevilla, Swansea, Tottenham, Napoli, Udinese and Eibar has announced that he is “hanging up” his football boots.
“I dreamed of becoming a professional footballer from a very young age. Who would have thought that I would end up living this dream, with all the wonderful opportunities that football has brought me throughout my career? I have been so lucky to be able to dedicate myself to doing what I love for so many years.
It was a long road and with work, sacrifices, humility and passion, I enjoyed being part of really great teams, where I always played with pride and gave my all. I would like to thank everyone for the opportunities they have given me and the fans for their love and support over the years.
I feel deeply privileged to have had so many fantastic experiences through football and to have met so many great people along the way. THANKS“, said the 24-time international with the national team of Spain.
