Mitroglou: “I had great moments at Benfica – I will remember it forever”

Almost eight years have passed since Mr Kostas Mitroglou she put on her jersey for the first time Benfica.

The great forward, who now plays for a lower-division club in Germany, scored 52 goals in 88 games for the Eagles and spent some of his most prolific years in Portugal.

THE Mitroglou spoke to “A Vola” and recalled his passage through Lisbon, stressing that the Benfica it is a team he will never forget.

On his 2016 title-winning goal against Sporting: “It was an important and special moment that season. Not so much that I scored the winning goal, but for the team, because with that goal, we climbed to the top of the table and never fell from there again and in the end we won the championship. It’s always special to score in a derby, especially when it’s such an important goal.”

About his career in the “Eagles”: “Those were great moments for me and the team that I lived in Benfica. I will always remember with great affection and in the best way those years, this team and the fantastic fans of Benfica.”

On his relationship with the team now: “I always follow Benfica. I try to catch up on her news and whenever I can, I watch the matches. Benfica did very well, they went very far in the Champions League. Now the team is very close to winning the championship. And he deserves congratulations for the good performances and for the good football he has shown throughout the season.”

For Gonzalo Ramos: “Of course I know him. He is a striker with a lot of talent and great potential. He has the whole year ahead of him to be successful and have a special career.”

For Benfica fans: “To continue to support the team as only they know how. It is Benfica’s greatest strength. With their fans always by their side, Benfica has nothing to fear and can only continue with victories and successes.”
