The end of an era is coming for him Rafa Nadalwith the great Spanish tennis player announcing that 2024 will also be his last year!

On the sidelines of a press conference given by the 36-year-old athlete, he claimed that he will not be able to compete at Roland Garros due to an injury.

And the end of his career is actually approaching, since it will happen next year!

“If I keep playing now, I don’t think I’ll be able to play next year. I will not go to Roland Garros, I will not play these months and my intention is that next year will be my last. To be able to play the tournaments I want to say goodbye to those who have marked me.

I didn’t make it, I’m not ready to compete yet. I will try to regenerate my body in these months, I will not set a return date. When I feel physically ready, I’ll start over. It could be a goal to try to get to the end of the year and be able to play the Davis Cup. And to be able to compete next year as well. I think it will be my last year.

The progression of the injury I suffered in Australia did not go as I would have liked. I have missed some goals and participation in Roland Garros is becoming impossible. Right now I won’t be able to be at Roland Garros. With what this tournament means to me, you can imagine how difficult it is. I have no intention of competing for the next few months”he said among other things.

THE Rafa Nadal has managed to conquer 14 years the Roland Garros (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022), but for the first time in his career he will not be able to participate in the event.

He has twice raised the Wimbledon in 2008 and 2010, twice the Australian Open in 2009 and 2022 and 4 times the American Open in 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019.
