Angelopoulos: “What we experienced today is shocking”

Panagiotis and George Angelopoulos they worshiped players, staff and people after Olympiakos qualified for the Euroleague final.

They characterized the moments experienced by the “red and white” and their people as shocking, while praising the passion shown by the people of Piraeus…

George Angelopoulos: “We experienced some of the most shocking emotions today with Olympiakos. It has never happened before in the history of world basketball what happened in the third period, it was incredible. Many fans have come from all over the world, this is very emotional when they come from everywhere and at such great cost. It fills you with responsibility, but we hope to make them proud the day after tomorrow. I have no opponent to choose. We are talking about the most competitive Euroleague of all time, whoever it is will be an extremely difficult match.”

Panagiotis Angelopoulos: “I was cooler (ss. than George). I was counting the points, since in the first half I was counting missed shots, I think we had 8 missed shots. I counted every basket until 27-2 in the third quarter. The defense played by the boys was shocking, they had great passion. It will go down in history the way the players played, they were down by 12 points and they came out and played that kind of basketball in the semifinals. It has to have soul, great players, great coach, great people to do that. I agree with George, what we experienced is shocking.

I have no preference for the final. It’s one of the best feelings to play first and then see the second semi-final as a winner”…
