“Jorge Garbajosa is the new president of FIBA Europe, after the nominations took place today (20/5) in Munich. The counting of votes showed the Spanish federation president ahead of his French counterpart Jean-Pierre Ciutat with a result of 35-15.
Aris Zois, who was re-elected to the central office of FIBA Europe, will also be present in the developments for another term, occupying the second place among all the candidates with 44 votes, a sign of the wide acceptance he enjoys. The Greek factor participated in the Greek delegation in the proceedings, together with the president of the EEC Evangelos Liolios and its general manager, Dino Sverkounos.
