What first, what… second: Champion’s win for City against Chelsea!

by

She ends the season as a true champion!

What if on Saturday (20/5) the Manchester City also mathematically secured the Premier League title (following Nottingham Forest’s win over Arsenal). Pep Guardiola’s team not only did not… calm down, but one day later prevailed Chelsea with 1-0 at the Etihad – using mostly substitutes – and scored their 11th straight win in the League.

Thus, the “citizens” are heading for an ideal completion of the season, which will find them on the one hand with their 3rd consecutive, 5th in the last six and 9th overall championship, on the other hand they also claim the Champions League and the FA Cup, competitions where they have qualified in the final (against Inter and Manchester United).

In his matches, the home team started perfectly. They were making phases, taking advantage of his 12′when they developed nicely from the shaft, with Palmer passing to Alvareswho coolly scored his 9th league goal of the season.

Since then, Chelsea began to “wake up” too, with Frank Lampard’s team threatening. Of course, the one who found another goal was City again with Alvarez in the 71st minute, a goal that was correctly canceled after Mahres’ hand had gone ahead. A tragic finale for the Londoners, who finished in the second half of the table.

It should be noted that after the final whistle, City fans poured onto the pitch!
