Meeting of the UEFA National Associations Committee in Athens

“The UEFA National Federations Committee met in Athens today. This is one of the most important committees of the European Football Confederation, of which the Executive Director of the EPO, Mr. Iakovos Philippousis, is a member.

The choice of Athens for the Commission meeting is a vote of confidence in the Hellenic Football Federation, as the last time our country hosted a UEFA meeting was in September 2016.

Among other things, the president of the Hellenic Football Federation, Mr. Panagiotis Baltakos, addressed this fact in his speech of welcome before the Committee at the beginning of the meeting, who said:

“I welcome you to the homeland of Homer, Socrates, Plato and many other philosophers and historical figures. I am happy that after seven years and the adventures that EPO has gone through, today we are hosting this very important meeting of your Committee. I was elected president a year ago and during this time I realized how important and very well organized an organization UEFA is, which in Europe successfully and effectively dominates the most popular sport, football.”

The president of UEFA’s National Association Committee Servet Yardimci thanked UEFA for the excellent hospitality and the flawless organization of the meeting, which he noted is an example of the work being done and which resulted in the lifting of supervision by FIFA in September 2022 ».
