Optimistic that the PAOK will display his familiar good image whenever he claims a trophy appeared o Adelino Vieirania.
At the press conference ahead of the big match with AEKthe leader of the “double-header of the North” noted that his team wants to win and not play the finals.
So he declared sure that the Cup whoever wants it the most will win it and he admitted that if PAOK succeeds, he will give him another self confidence and for the new season.
In detail what Vieirania said about
– the empty stands: “Again it is a final without people, but we are used to it in Greece. It is not only that we are playing without people, but that only a few days ago we found the venue. We’ve seen it become an issue across Europe. I’m upset, but unfortunately it’s something we’re used to. The Cup final should be a celebration for players and fans, it’s a shame that it will happen again without people.”
– the final with AEK: “AEK was the best team throughout the championship, but in the finals we want to beat them, not play them. We know what we have to do and we want the win to close the season in the best possible way. It’s a game, there’s no home ground, whoever fights the hardest usually wins these matches.
Last year we really wanted it, but we couldn’t win it. We have several finals and several wins in them in recent years. We have proven that we are always present and we always want it a little more than the opponent, in order to close this strange season well”.
-how important a title will be for PAOK: “A final is a final, a trophy is a trophy. A lot has changed this year, we have a new team, with young players who will play in a final for the first time. We know that we are judged by the results. This work takes time and faith, but we don’t think about defeat but only about victory. A title will give us more confidence for the new season.”
-whether a possible conquest would lead him to stop playing football: “Of course the best way to end a long career is with a trophy. But it will not be judged by whether we win the Cup or not. I only have victory in my mind and I’m thinking”.
-the three defeats by AEK this year: “We have played against AEK many times, we have won one and lost the rest. We know what mistakes we have made, whoever wants more will win.”
– his advice to his younger teammates: “To enjoy it, to live it intensely and to be united throughout the match and after it, whatever the result.”
