On racism in LaLiga and its case Vinicius was placed o Pepe Reina in an interview with Marca. The Villarreal goalkeeper has insisted that harsh punishments should be meted out to racist fans, but pointed out that Real’s Brazilian ace needs to mature in terms of his behavior on the pitch.
“All racist behavior must stop. I don’t believe there is racism in all the stadiums in Spain, there are just the typical kaffirs and idiots who are hard to contain. Those who called Vinicius a “monkey” should be condemned, in my opinion“, said the 40-year-old goalkeeper.
“In the past I have spoken to Vinicius and told him that he needs to show more dedication to the game as he develops into one of the best players in the world. I think he needs to mature more and show respect to his opponents. So I think he will improve his performance even more, not every away game can be a war for him. We need to start dealing with this phenomenon called racism more actively and more decisively. Exemplary sanctions must be imposed such as closing stadiums and stopping matches. However, regarding the Spanish league, I think racism is not as intense as in the other leagues, such as England, France and Italy“, he added.
