Katerina Giota is officially at AEK

Important transfer for the AEK women’s volleyball team. The “yellow and black” announced her acquisition Katerina Iotawho plays as a central player and has a wealth of experience having played for Olympiakos for a decade, leaving recently.

AEK is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with Katerina Iota. The 32-year-old (07/06/1990) international center, 1.84 m tall, signed a one-year contract and joins the Club’s women’s Volleyball team.

Katerina Iota is one of the leading volleyball athletes that our country has produced. She started her professional career from Aris Thessaloniki in 2006, competing until 2008, while earlier she wore the jersey of GS Grevena. He followed a five-year (2008-2013) at Iraklis Kifissias, with whom he stood out in the top division of the country. The next step in her career was Olympiacos, where she played from 2013 to 2023, with the only interruption being her transfer to the Hungarian Vasas (2021-2022).

Under her belt she has Greek Championships, Greek Cups and a Challenge Cup. On an individual level, she has been named the Women’s Volleyball League MVP, a member of the Volleyball League’s top seven, as well as the 2017-18 Challenge Cup top blocker.

He was a key member of our National Team for years. Among other things, in 2018 he was a key member of the team that won the Silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona.
