Serelis: “The series reflects Panathinaikos’ season”

by

Panathinaikos once again showed a negative face to “Andreas Papandreou” and was defeated by Peristeri bwin 76-71, which means that the series between them is led to a fifth match.

After the match, Mr Christos Serelis spoke at the press conference and was disappointed with the image of the team, stressing that the instability shown by Panathinaikos during the series is representative of the season he is going through.

What he said in detail:

“Congratulations to Peristeri for the victory. I think offensively 18 fouls is a huge number, as is our three-point miss. We didn’t have a clear mind in the attack in the first half and we gave Peristeri the right to take a lead and keep it,” said the Greek coach and added “The rest is for us, for the next match. No tomorrow and we have to win to go to the finals.”

About the mistakes at the end he said: “It was not decisive. The whole match is important. We made mistakes throughout the match. Mistakes we can avoid. We didn’t have good options, we didn’t have rotations and we got stuck in attack. It is reasonable to make mistakes, but apart from the effort of Peristeri, everything depends on us. From how we manage the attacks. From our patience and the final decision”.

For the next match: “The series is as Panathinaikos has been all season. Psychologically, when we lose momentum, we are slow to regain our rhythm and footwork. And we lose control in defense. And before I come and while I am, These are for the end of the season. Now all we care about is winning the next match.”

For the rebounds his team got: “I’m not worried that we lose even if we get the rebounds. We were in the mood. This can be seen from the rebounds. But it is Peristeri who tries in every match. In attack we had a lot of bad choices. We made wrong passes, more dribbles and when we found free shots we were nervous and we were wrong”.
